‘Ad-lib’ is a series of figurative collages inspired by my background in dance and theatre. Drawing on the language of performance, these works explore transformation, illusion, and hidden narratives. Showgirls with beastly heads, dramatic silhouettes, and layered textures suggest that not everything is as it seems & the circus of it all. Each title borrows from theatrical themes, like ‘Encore’ while the imagery hints at the ritual power of performance found across cultures. The name Ad-lib is both a nod to improvisation and to the instinctive process behind the work—where meaning emerges through intuition, gesture, and play.
